Italy is one of the most magical places there is. In July 2014 I went on a trip with my mom and dad to Italy. One day, several months before the trip, an interest to go to Italy, specially Venice, sparked in me. I told my parents about this and they decided it would be a good idea to go. We also went to Rome, Florence, and Milan, which were also incredible places.
The first place we went to was Venice and we stayed there for about 2 days, we were going to come back again. Venice had a heartwarming feeling, the small houses and canoes in the place made it feel like those villages where grandparents lived and always talk about. The architecture in Venice, mainly white, was also a piece of art and made it great. We took the vaporetto to get to places and I just loved watching the water but the sun was extreme and it was very annoying when it would hit me or reflect on the water burning on the eyes.
Then we went to Rome, and saw the colosseum which I always wanted to see and inside even though it was full of fallen pieces of rock, it was very interesting. My parents wanted to see lots of things and we walked all day and under the sun that Rome had, it was pure torture, I was always thirsty. My favorite thing from Rome was by far Saint Peter's Basilica, it had many interesting statues, beautiful paintings and tall columns and I was just fascinated by it. We spent about 4 days on Rome.
About Florence and Milan I really don't remember much even though Florence is home to the greatest painters of the Renaissance. We did see paintings in Florence that I did like but I don't remember much about them. I also remember a palace or something like that connected to a bridge which had houses if I am not mistaken. In Milan I think we didn't do anything at all, we just walked on a Plaza visited briefly a church and that was it. We spent 2 days in Florence and 2 days in Milan. We then came back to Venice, spent another two days there just wandering since there wasn't much left to see but it was still beautiful, and then came back home.
The trip I had to Italy was probably the most exhausting I have ever had but it's also one of the most rewarding and I'm very happy and grateful that I had the opportunity to visit Italy.
